About the Author
Bettendorf, Iowa, author Patrick J. Flaherty is an assistant scoutmaster of Troop 89 in Bettendorf, helping build the troop from 11 scouts to more than 70 members.
His three sons have achieved their rank as Eagle Scouts. As well
as his scouting volunteering, Flaherty continues to serve as a
youth athletic coach and promoter and developer of socially
responsible products for today's young adults.
